Meet Jesse Tucker. He’s the twin of Tyler Tucker, the defenseman that the Blues chose in the 7th round of the 2018 NHL Draft. Well, Tyler Tucker has proven to be a great selection for St. Louis. There are plenty of stories on the Blues prospect here in the archives.
I wanted to dig into stats on Jesse who has not been drafted yet. Unlike his brother, he’s a forward. The brothers are natives of Longlac, Ontario, Canada and will be 19 years of age on March 1st.
As you may be aware, Tyler Tucker is having one heck of a season with the Barrie Colts.
Well, Jesse Tucker is no slouch either. In fact, in his 2017-18 OJHL season with the North York Rangers, he scored 17 goals and registered 33 assists and 50 points in 52 games played to lead the team in points. He then scored 1 goal and tallied 5 assists for 6 points in 10 playoff games.
“Tucker also played in the CJHL Top Prospects Game and the CJHL Eastern Canada Cup Challenge, a big honour for a rookie in the OJHL” – pointstreak.com
In a CJHL post-game interview from the North York Rangers YouTube channel in January of 2018, Jesse was asked he wanted scouts to know about him.
“I just want scouts to know that I’m a hard working player and I’m going to go down to the bone to finish it off, and i’m going to do everything I can to win.” – Jesse Tucker
In March of 2018, Jesse committed to Lake Superior University and will play NCAA hockey in the 2019-20 season. He now plays for the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL. This season, he has 8 goals and 18 helpers for 26 points in 38 games played.
